It was so easy I took it apart and did it again. I am still giggling.
I love the products from Boyd! Highly recommended!
I ordered fuel tank without EFI pump back in October for my '78 C10 restorod project. When my 632 Builder's Series engine from Blueprint came in, I realized I had a problem, since the pump they provided is a larger external pump. The Boyd's tank I had previously installed had a flange for an in-tank pump. In order to maintain my warranty, I have to use the pump Blueprint provided, which is the A1000. I sent an email to Boyd's to inquire about what I could do to get a pickup tube, but I didn't get a response because of the holiday season. During the wait, I was stumbling around their website and found a pickup tube that was sold separately, so I went ahead and ordered it. I finally got a chance to attempt to put the pickup tube in. I noticed that the opening in my tank was significantly smaller than the pickup assembly they sent. Apparently, their configuration is designed for the A1000 Stealth, which mounts inside the tank. In my short research, it seems that the externally mounted version has the longest production run, and is probably the most commonly used variant of the A1000, even though this Stealth model was introduced as an offering at some point. That being said, they fabricated a one-off solution to address my issue, and shipped it to me in a timely fashion. They went over the top to bail me out of what would have been an extremely inconvenient situation. I'd have had to remove the tank, sell it, and purchase a different tank to address that issue. I'd highly recommend Boyd's, and I'll definitely use them for related needs that arise in the future.
