4-Gallon Aluminum Fuel Tank, 15" x 9" x 9" (#11072)

A 4-gallon aluminum tank that comes complete with a Kelch Target 350 vented cap, an installed pickup tube and a mechanical level gauge, plus 3/8" NPT return and drain ports and integrated mounting tabs. Aluminum tanks do not swell, crack or permeate fuel.

Fill
350 Series buttress neck on top with a Kelch Target 350 vented plastic cap included. The neck fits Flambeau and Kelch 350 series caps.

Vent
1/4" NPT port in the fill neck.

Sending Unit
5-bolt SAE sender flange on top, with an 8.75" direct-read mechanical level gauge included and installed.

Pickup
One permanent pickup tube is installed: 3/8" NPT half coupling on top, 1/4" Sch 40 aluminum tube, 8.25" long with a 15° cut.

Return
3/8" NPT 6061-T6 aluminum flanged port on top.

Drain
3/8" NPT 6061-T6 aluminum flanged port in the bottom. Plug it if you don't use it. Aluminum threads cross-thread and gall easily. Start every plug and fitting by hand and never install them dry. Thread damage from dry-fitted plugs or hardware isn't covered under warranty.

Install Notes

  • Keep the vent in the fill neck open, or plumb it to a vapor canister or filter.
  • Aluminum threads cross-thread and gall easily. Start every plug and fitting by hand and never install them dry. Thread damage from dry-fitted plugs or hardware isn't covered under warranty.
  • Measure your application before ordering. Full dimensions, port locations and mounting hole locations are on the Reference Tank Drawing (PDF).
  • Put rubber isolator pads (or similar rubber isolation) under the mounting tabs to isolate the tank from vibration and chafe.

What comes with the tank?
The tank, a Kelch Target 350 vented cap, an installed pickup tube and an installed mechanical level gauge.

What size fittings do I need?
The pickup, return and drain ports are 3/8" NPT (the drain is the port in the bottom), and the vent in the neck is 1/4" NPT. Supply your own final fittings and plugs.

What caps fit the neck?
Flambeau and Kelch 350 series caps.

Do I need straps to mount it?
No. The tank has integrated mounting tabs.

Does it have a level gauge?
Yes. A mechanical level gauge is included and installed on the 5-bolt SAE flange.

What fuels can I use?
Gasoline or diesel. Choose a cap rated for your fuel.

Is the tank baffled?
No. It has no baffles.

What is the warranty?
A 2-year limited structural warranty. Thread damage from dry-fitted plugs or hardware isn't covered.

Can you modify this tank or build a custom one?
Yes, but not for a single tank. We can't make any changes for a one-tank order. Custom or modified tanks require a 5–10 piece order, and drawing fees usually apply. Contact us for more information.
