Tank Options & Provisions

Fill (Tank Cap / Neck Option)
On top, at one end of the tank. Choose the cap at checkout, rated for your fuel. All tanks must be vented to work properly. With a non-vented cap, vent the tank through the 3/8" NPT top port or use a managed vent cap. Open vented caps will leak.

Vent
There is no separate vent port. Vent the tank through a vented or managed vent cap, or use the 3/8" NPT machined 304L stainless top port as a vent instead of a return. Plumb a port vent to a vapor canister or filter.

Sending Unit (Level Sensor Option)
Stainless 5-bolt SAE sender flange built into the top. A sensor or the block-off plate is required to use the tank; have us install one or install your own.

Pickup (Pickup Tube Options)
One #25021 stainless pickup tube, approx. 11.75" long, is installed, threaded into a 3/8" NPT port on top, with a 3/8" female NPT 90° head (0.312" ID). One is all you need unless you're running multiple engines.

  • No Thanks- 1 pickup tube is all I need.
  • Install (1) Additional Pickup Tube (2 Pickups Total)
  • Install (2) Additional Pickup Tubes (3 Pickups Total)
  • Install (3) Additional Pickup Tubes (4 Pickups Total)

Return
3/8" NPT machined 304L stainless flanged port on top. Use it as either a return or a vent.

Drain
3/8" NPT machined 304L stainless flanged port, low on the end wall. Plug it if you don't use it. Stainless threads cross-thread and gall easily. Start every plug and fitting by hand and never install them dry. Thread damage from dry-fitted plugs or hardware is not covered under warranty.

Install Notes

  • The tank must be vented. Open vented caps will leak. With a non-vented cap, vent through the 3/8" NPT top port or use a managed vent cap, and plumb a port vent to a vapor canister or filter.
  • A sensor or the block-off kit must be installed on the sender flange before the tank is used.
  • Stainless threads cross-thread and gall easily. Start every plug and fitting by hand and never install them dry. Thread damage from dry-fitted plugs or hardware is not covered under warranty.
  • Measure your application before ordering. Full dimensions and port locations are on the reference drawing (PDF).
  • Put rubber isolator pads (or similar rubber isolation) under the mounting tabs to isolate the tank from vibration and chafe.
  • See our Universal Fuel Tank Selection, Install & Fitment Guide to compare sizes, ports, venting, mounting and level sensors.

FAQ

What size fittings do I need?
The pickup, return / vent and drain ports are all 3/8" NPT. Supply your own final fittings and plugs.

How do I vent the tank?
Use a vented or managed vent cap, or use the 3/8" NPT top port as a vent. With a non-vented cap, the tank must be vented through the port.

Can the top 3/8" NPT port be a return or a vent?
Yes. Use it as either one.

Does it come with a level sensor?
The 5-bolt SAE sender flange is built in. Choose a 0-90 or 240-33 ohm sensor, a mechanical gauge or the block-off kit at checkout, or install your own.

Can I feed more than one engine from this tank?
Yes. Add up to 3 extra pickup tubes (4 total) at checkout.

What fuels can I use?
Gasoline or diesel. Choose a cap rated for your fuel.

Is the tank baffled?
No. It has no baffles.

What is the warranty?
A 2-year limited structural warranty. Thread damage from dry-fitted plugs or hardware is not covered.

Can you modify this tank or build a custom one?
Yes, but not for a single tank. We can't make any changes for a one-tank order. Custom or modified tanks require a 5–10 piece order, and drawing fees usually apply. Contact us for more information.

Do you offer bulk pricing?
Yes. Bulk pricing and discounts are available on larger orders, starting as low as 10 pieces. Contact us for a quote.
